I've got a whole post about these coming up on Ko-fi. I did a series of tests of a variety of gelli plate transfer techniques. I really really dig oil pastel and china marker. I need to use cheaper paper though. The stuff I did this one with was too nice. Gotta pick up some of that 100% recycled copy paper. The good stuff I use for most stuff doesn't suck the paint up. I've been testing a bunch of gel plate xfer techniques. Close to process colors. Super thin transparent layer of color and then yellow to transfer the image from plate to paper. Some photocopy, laser printer, and ballpoint etch. The imagery is of skulllies and school desks, you know why. Fuzzy pixels the magenta-adjacent layer. 1syimage is with the black test print as the first print, everything on top. I think black on top will look spectacular and crisp.(ish) I went with a red purple as my magenta layer, I tried a true magenta and it didn't go. Some of the kids spotted these prints on the rack and basically said, "I wanna do that " so we will. The yellow is going over the blue. The black was a test print, but I layered the blue and yellow over it as a test. So far I like it. The blue and yellow look great together. I opened this vintage can of ink expecting it to be yellow, saw it had a bunch of orange mixed in so looked up the pantone number and uh it still should have been yellow, but school bus yellow. Some of the teens I work with made these awesome puppets as part of their show project. They also made a complete paper mache stage complete with back drops. It is very cool. The puppets are so cute in person. I can't wait to show more of this stuff. If you live in the North shore you should come to our celebration of the show opening. Well it finally happened. I had a real credible exposure to COVID. Thankfully, I've been masked and very careful. This morning 2 people I've had close contact with have developed some mild symptoms and have had positive tests. I will test again tomorrow AM. But so far so good. No symptoms for me. Phew.

A full rack of prints, 2 colors gold and black on 20x36 inch paper (I think) I taught a friend to use the press, how to lock up, ink, and printing using the vandercook sp20. Great work completed over about 3 days after work. You're looking at about 8 hours of work.teaching a new person adds 2 hours to the process. Some bleached out tee work. It's been rinsed and will be dry by the time I get back to the studio, but the stencils and mask worked great with the toilet bowl cleaner and spray bottle. The dribble lines are from the gel in the spray bottle. The toilet bowl cleaner does have a down side- it starts to oxidize fast, so putting out small amounts for brush work is key, because it stops working fast. I'll get a pic of the campfire scene I made on a navy shirt.
