Processing a bit more. Some gel prints made with oil pastel resist and then more collage bits from the resist sheets themselves. Something about using resists in this process seems appropriate. The coat hangers were resists from the plate after I'd made several copies already so the print was super grungy a perfect look for this.the sealed lips were the first registered gel print I've done with my large plate. Killer. Thought made some uterus prints these were traced on deli paper then coated with a thin layer of paint. Montana paint markers were KILLER for this. molotow too. They also float on the surface so well. I need to sit on this one a bit then trim, sign and seal it. #collage #printnerd #print #art #artistsoninstagram

I made some fresh collage papers this weekend. A combo of deli paper and old book pages. The text is done on an old gothic typeface and is in German. Don't worry I searched out the book to make sure it wasn't n4zi text, instead it was describe as a wealthy man's prose about his travels. The reviews basically said he had it vanity publish and was just baaaadly written like awful. Anyway. Awful prose got hit with colors and stencils. Color layered on with a makeup sponge. I like it. They are soft and squishy and layer on a delightful thin layer of paint. Cool. Anyway. Many colors several patterns. I also scraped some acrylic over deli and tissue paper to get some nice textured thin papers. I dig deli paper. The gritty grungy look of the resist fits my vibe and the deli paper is darn near perfect for layers of collage without building up too much texture and weight in an art journal or a board. Ohhhhh oil pastel resist. Started with teal for the pattern, let it dry lifted with transparent yellow onto white paper. Killer. The resist paper is spectacular too. Digging these oil pastel transfers with the gelli plate. the oil pastel scrapes off the transfer sheet so it works well as collage paper afterwards. The wax pencils work pretty well too. #printmaking #printplay #print #art

I made myself a few journals out of recycled paper bags. These were extra large sized bags used to deliver bread to the grocery store. I collected a few from a recycler and had 3 that were torn. I cut them down and ended up with 3 books and some loose sheets. I'm planning to do more art journaling this summer. I'm adding gelli printing to the mix the last journal is my first to use. The last 2 pics are the pieces that I made one in a book and the other one a loose sheet. I read about some magat state rep stating he'd try to drown his kids if they were gay. Fuck that guy. This is the kind of crap queers in the US hear all the time. The stuff we contend with. Parents that laughingly joke that they'd kill their kids rather than love them if they were gay. Think before you speak, know that somewhere a kid is hearing your words and taking them in, absorbing that hate and thinking it'd be better to be dead than gay.
