I've been reading and listening a LOT lately. I started this book 3 days ago and I have only 9 pages left. Lots of good things have been committed to memory. #lifelonglearning #stationery #coffee some back and forth on the @erasablepodcast Facebook page about old EF Blackwing pencil cap extenders, a guy did a DIY and kludged together one of his own. So I did too. These are solid, lightweight, and work like a charm. Ripped a ferrule off a blackwing, chopped a metal cap down a tad, added some gap filled gelled superglue and BOOM, cap extender with eraser.

If you are a pencil user you cannot go wrong with any of this year's composition notebooks. Fountain pen users can rejoice too. The 50 cent Unison comps at target are great! Not silky smooth but you get sheen without bleed. Hot damn some great options! Wexford at Walgreens are no slouch! Full reviews upcoming.

For #homeroasting using the #freshroastsr500 the most important part of my notes are when I move the heat and begin to modulate the fan. I use an external timer instead of the onboard countdown on the fresh roast machine. It is more accurate. I also flick the heat off for 10 seconds at 20 sec mark and 45 sec mark. The off for 5 sec at 125, 150, 225 and finally at 250. This helps slow the heat ramp in the first 3 min of roasting and keeps the beans rotating as they lose moisture and warm up. #coffeeroasting

I've finished a few novels and u know they are terrible. They will forever languish in my reject pile. While I'm just now learning to be a writer, I'm a lifelong reader, and I can tell you a number of things that tear me out of an otherwise great story and break my heart. Some of this stuff are things beta reader and early stage editing will or should catch. Head hopping, overwhelming characters with a ton of personality and somehow we know their thoughts when the book is supposed to be first person POV, weird grammatical phrasing that sounds fine or acceptable.in a first draft but is garbage in the finished piece, repetative phrases and thoughts and words. If you are a #lesfic author and you need a honest beta reader, hit me up, I'll read your work, send you a doc with notes and thoughts, and be happy to do it. There is no reason to not have a beta reader, there are tons of readers in the community who would.be happy to do it.
